Don't let the BG tag fool you
I was hesitant about buying this knife after reading of some problems with the initial batch. Those problems appear to have been fixed by Gerber and this is now a good, practical outdoors piece. Blade is nice and thick and batons wood well, although mine arrived dull. The whistle is a handy little thing to have but don't rely on it as a life-saver, it's more gimmicky than practical. Good sheath and the firestarter rod is a nice addition, as is the sharpening stone attached to the sheath. I wasn't sure I'd like the colour but I can see why it's useful in the field, since it's easy to find if you put it down.
Pros: Comes with 'survival' sheet, Pommel doubles as hammer, Firestarter, Good-sized blade, Comfortable grip
Cons: Unnecessarily long serrated edge, Arrived dull, Few sheath-wearing options
Would recommend: Yes

Good quality knife
I was a bit sceptical about a celebrity-endorsed knife, but as it is made by Gerber I decided to give it a try. I wasn't disappointed. It has a quality feel to it, a good weight and the blade cuts well. Factor in the survival features and this is a knife well worth the money.
Pros: Strong handle, Good weight
Cons: none
Would recommend: Yes
